Finally merchants who have a local business listing on Google, also known as Google Places, can respond to reviews. Google Places has become the must have placement for business getting local traffic.

I’ve included instructions on how to respond to a review on Google Places.

  1. Login to your Google account with the email address you used for Google Places (a.k.a. Local Business Listing)
  2. Go to Google Maps http://maps.google.com/
  3. Enter your [business name]
  4. Click on your business listing (or click on “reviews” or “more info”)
  5. Scroll down to Reviews
  6. Select “Respond Publicly as Owner
  7. Write your response in the text area. (Be nice feedback is helpful!)

For more detailed information and guidelines refer to responding to a business review on Google Places on Google help site.

Google Local Business Results

I am amazed by how different the Local Business Results SEO is than the organic SEO. For organic SEO, link building is all about anchor text.  You put your keywords into the anchor text of your link and it’ll do magic for your organic search rank. On the other hand, Local Business Results SEO needs to build up “citation” so Google can identify your business through other websites that have information containing the business name, address or phone number.

We are proud to announce that our client “Fraser Piano” is on the top 10 for “Vancouver pianos”.

Local Business Results SEO is becoming more important and for small business owners doing local business only, this can really increase your sales.
